Privacy Policy
Steyn Alliance Bancorporation ("we", "us", "the firm") respects the privacy of every person who visits this website, contacts the firm, or uses the client portal. This policy describes the information we collect through this website and the portal, how we use it, and how to reach us about it. It applies to this website and to the online services we provide through it.
Information we collect
When you contact us through this website, we collect the information you choose to provide: your name, email address, telephone number if given, your preferred method of contact, the area you indicate your enquiry concerns, and the contents of your message.
If a client relationship is established and a portal account is created — or you register for one where registration is open — we collect account information including your name, email address and sign-in credentials (passwords are stored only in irreversibly hashed form, never as entered), together with records of email verification and acceptance of these terms. In the course of onboarding and serving clients we also maintain the information the relationship requires: identity-verification and related compliance records, the documents you or the firm upload through the portal, and the account, portfolio and transaction records we administer on your behalf.
To operate the website and portal securely, we automatically record limited technical information: the IP address and browser identification associated with form submissions and sign-ins, sign-in history including unsuccessful attempts, and an audit trail of actions taken within the portal.
How we use information
We use this information to respond to enquiries; to create and administer portal accounts and control access to them; to carry out client onboarding, including document requests and compliance checks; to provide our advisory and administrative services; to send service communications such as account notifications and alerts; to protect the website, the portal and our clients against fraud and unauthorised access; to maintain the records and audit trails that sound administration and applicable law require; and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Sharing
We share personal information only as needed to operate: with the hosting and infrastructure providers on which this website runs; with the email delivery service used to send verification messages and notifications; with the firm's professional advisers where necessary; and with regulators, authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law or legal process. Service providers act on our instructions and do not receive personal information for their own use.
Retention and security
We keep enquiry records for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and any relationship that follows. Client records, documents and transaction history are retained for the duration of the relationship and thereafter for as long as applicable law and regulation require. Security and audit logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to their purpose. Throughout, we apply administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections, hashed credentials and access controls within the firm.
Your rights and how to reach us
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information we hold about you; some information may need to be retained where law or regulation requires it. To raise a privacy question or exercise a right, contact us through the contact page or by email at info@steynalliance.com, and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Terms of Use
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. Access to the client portal is additionally governed by the agreement between the firm and each client.
Informational purposes only. The content of this website is provided for general information about the firm and its services. Nothing on this site constitutes investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security, or a recommendation regarding any strategy. Browsing this website does not create an advisory or client relationship; advisory relationships are established only through a written agreement with the firm.
No warranty; availability. While we take care to keep this website accurate and available, it is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results, and investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal.
Acceptable use. You agree not to misuse this website or the client portal — including by attempting to gain unauthorised access to any account or system, probing or testing security, interfering with the site's operation, submitting unlawful or malicious content, or harvesting content or data by automated means.
Intellectual property. The content of this website belongs to the firm or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
Third-party links. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only; we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the firm accepts no liability for loss arising from use of, or inability to use, this website or reliance on its general content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes. We may update these terms and the policies on this page from time to time; the date at the top of this page reflects the most recent material change. Questions about these terms can be raised through the contact page.
